I received my PhD from the University Complutense of Madrid in 2005. Since 2007 I work in TROPA-UCM group on climate variability, especially on the West African Monsoon, from intra-seasonal to decadal time scales. I am also interested in predictability at these time scales. I have participated in a number of projects (national and European) and directed one of them, and I have several publications on my research (more details in CV summary). I have also collaborated in cooperation projects focused on West Africa.

I have teaching experience at degree and master's level and I have directed and participated in academic innovation projects. I currently supervise the PhD thesis of Julián Villamayor, and I co-advice the PhD thesis of Coumba Niang from the University Cheik Anta Diop in Dakar-Senegal.
